Minimize Your Pocket

It's very straight forward, and almost too simple. Most wallets don't require more than five cards on an average day. Bulky wallets make your trousers look funny (in front or in back), are prone to greater hassle when stolen, and break the contents from the forces exerted on them.

It's difficult to go with less (at first)

Try it. Pick 5 cards, throw a rubber band around them and attempt to go through a week. It is difficult to think you can do without all the bulk, but you may be surprised.

What to do with the rest of the bulk

  • Cash - Use a money clip and only take it with you when you think you might need it, or fold a single bill in thirds and tuck it between two cards.
  • Club Cards - Keep these in your car, download the appropriate app, or take a photo. You're probably going to drive to the store or frozen yogurt shop, or use your phone anyways.
  • Excess Credit Cards - Do you really need more than one or two? Put the rest in your car or on your nightstand.
  • Receipts - Trash. If you must, take a photo with your smartphone.
  • Medical ID - Most cards have an ID number only. Take a photo on your phone or add it into your personal contact card.
  • Others - Evaluate these by asking yourself "Do I really need this on a daily basis?".

Experiment Try different combinations of cards, and find the right set that you will use on a daily basis. Whether or not you purchase a Tudor Wallet, your pocket will breathe a sigh of relief without the bulk. Simplify, and embrace the freedom of carrying less.
